Bulk carrier KARAAGAC troubled again

July 9, 2016 at 03:30 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

Bulk carrier KARAAGAC left Chennai, India, Bay of Bengal, on June 1, bound for Kakinda, but suffered engine failure shortly after leaving, and was brought to anchor on outer anchorage Chennai, on July 2. As of 0300 UTC July 9, vessel remains in the same position. Indian Maritime Authorities request owner to move the vessel from anchorage, finding her a threat to shipping. Late in June vessel was arrested in Chennai for unpaid wages, but owner seemed to somehow fix that problem.
