Suezmax BOUBOULINA attacked by pirates

July 8, 2016 at 00:44 by Mikhail Voytenko in Maritime Security

Suezmax crude oil tanker BOUBOULINA was attacked by pirates at around 0730 UTC July 7 in vicinity 03 20N 005 10E, Gulf of Guinea, southwest of Agbami Offshore Terminal. Vessel was under way, en route from Agbami Offshore Terminal to Tramandai, Brazil, obviously in load. Armed pirates boarded tanker; the crew retreated into citadel, and when they left citadel, pirates already left the vessel, though unknown in what manner. Most probably, pirates ransacked cabins and other compartments, taking with them all values they managed to find.
