LCT PUTRI SRITANJUNG 1 sank in Bali Strait

LCT PUTRI SRITANJUNG 1 started to sink at around 1730 LT June 8 in Bali Strait, off Bulusan, Banyuwangi, East Java. Vessel started to leak, maybe due to reported heavy swell. On June 9 vessel sank, but remained partially above the water. Stern is resting on bottom, fore is above the water, with dislodged ramp. Vessel reportedly is in a lay-up for already 3 months, with crew on board. Vessel understood to be lended to Government.
