KM KELUD aground, Batam, Singapore Strait

Passenger ship KM KELUD ran aground at around 1100 LT Jun 1 while approaching Sekupang port, Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia, Singapore Strait. Vessel with 714 passengers on board ran aground on a sandbar in rough weather with heavy rain and strong wind gusts. Vessel stranded off fairway and ran aground, developing a list. Passengers remained on board awaiting refloating, which seems to be already taken place, though according to AIS, at 1330 UTC vessel still didn’t dock.
