Fishing vessel STEREN MOR towed to safety

Fishing vessel STEREN MOR issued distress signal and asked for assistance at 1652 LT Apr 26 in vicinity 49 14N 004 53W, some 46 nm north of Ouessant, English Canal. Disabled vessel was drifting. 7 crew were airlifted by helicopter and taken to naval base, MRCC dispatched Navy tug to abandoned drifting vessel. Salvage team boarded STEREN MOR from helicopter, and found vessel stable and seaworthy for towage. The crew was to return to STEREN MOR in the afternoon Apr 27, owner said to charter Brest tug to tow STEREN MOR to safety. Vessel on tow arrived to Douarnenez, Brest area, at around 0100 LT Apr 28.
