HC LARA near collision with FSO UMBA

General cargo vessel HC LARA suffered engine failure while leaving Murmansk, Russia, Barents sea, on Mar 23. Vessel was sailing in Kolskiy Bay near FSO UMBA (IMO 9196620, dwt 300259) at the time of an accident, and kept moving towards FSO, creating a risk of collision. Pilot on board of HC LARA and Traffic Control Center saved the day by engaging a Navy tug, which was nearby. HC LARA was towed to anchorage and anchored there. Vessel fixed the problem and resumed voyage to Hamburg with cargo of non-ferrous metals.
