FPSO P-48 fire, Brazil
Fire broke out on FPSO P-48, Barracuda-Caratinga field in the Campos Basin northeast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at around 1330 LT Mar 17. Fire engulfed starboard Modul 04, with flames 20 meters high. One of the FPSO staff was injured. Fire was reportedly extinguished the same day, FPSO was shut down. P-48 is located in the deep water Campos Basin, 1,040m in depth, producing an average of 48,309 barrels of oil per day.
