OCEANIC 1 intercepted in Caribbean with more than a ton of cocaine

General cargo vessel OCEANIC 1 was intercepted by Dutch Coast Guard forces in the Caribbean soon after vessel left Aruba, early in the morning Mar 5, on a suspicion of drug trafficking. Operation, coordinated from Curacao, was launched several days earlier, and involved substantial resources. Vessel was chased by Dutch CG patrol ship JAGUAR, freighter refused to stop, warning shots had to be fired for OCEANIC 1 to get the message, stop and allow on board coast guard team. 1200 kilos of cocaine, packed in more than 40 bags, were found. Vessel was taken to Aruba, 7 crew arrested.
