Container ship KALLIOPI R C suffered total blackout late in the evening Mar 1 shortly after leaving Le Havre France, some 14 nm off Le Havre. Crew was trying to fix the problem till morning Mar 2, but failed. MRCC Jobourg demanded from vessel’s operator to agree to towage, in view of deteriorating weather. Salvage tug Abeille Liberte was ordered to take boxship on tow to tow her to Le Havre. As of 0730 UTC Mar 3, vessel understood to be under tow of Abeille Liberte. Vessel was en route from Le Havre to Piraeus. According to photo, disabled KALLIOPI R C was anchored, open to rough weather.
