Product tanker HUSEYN JAVID sheltered off Finisterre after engine failure

Product tanker HUSEYN JAVID with cargo of chemicals suffered mechanical failure in the morning Feb 8 while sailing along Spanish coast in the Atlantic, en route to Amsterdam. Vessel requested assistance, salvage tug DON INDA (IMO 9338010) based in Corcubion, Finisterre, La Corune province, was sent to assist. Crew managed to fix the problem and restart engine, but vessel asked for refuge in Finisterre anchorage. Permission was granted, vessel reached anchorage under own power, escorted by DON INDA. Reportedly tanker is to wait for spare parts required for repair. As of 0430 UTC Feb 9, vessel was in the same position, anchored on Finisterre anchorage.
