Luxury yacht SERENA III sank off Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Luxury yacht SERENA III sank at night Jan 25 in the Atlantic near Fort Lauderdale, reported local media, citing Lisa Morgan, from Sea Tow. Yacht started taking on water, 13 people on board were rescued by USCG cutter. Officials said they tried to salvage the vessel, which was located approximately 13 nautical miles off the coast of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The yacht, however, sank in "unrecoverable waters," Morgan said. According to AIS, at 0030 UTC Jan 26 yacht was still afloat, moving north at a speed of 4.8 knots, but that was the last signal, in position 26 14N 079 53W. So most probably, yacht sank.
