Greek aframax involved in hit&run?

Jan. 17, 2016 at 15:26 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

There were news in media about an accident, supposedly hit and run, in East China Sea, which took place around 0000 LT Jan 14 some 50 nm northeast of Miaozihu Island, northeast of Zhoushan. An unidentified freighter collided with a fishing boat Zhe Pu Yu 42234, which sank after collision, with 5 crew going missing. SAR didn’t bring any results.
I received an information from a source which asked to stay anonymous about this accident. According to source, fishing vessel most probably collided with a Greek aframax MINERVA PISCES, which was en route from Bahrain to South Korea. It is understood, that P&I, Korean maritime authorities and other interested parties were duly informed about possible accident. I omit a number of details, which are at my disposal. Korean authorities didn’t take any actions against Master, but warned him, that he may be arrested in China.
