Tug PETER F. GELLATLY with oil barge grounded by storm, Galveston

Tug PETER F. GELLATLY with oil brage in ballast were grounded by a strong wind off East Beach, Galveston Bay, in the afternoon Oct 25. Tug and barge were anchored to wait out bad weather, but couldn’t hold against strong wind, anchors dragged, and barge drifted aground. On a photo grounded barge. Refloating is delayed because of adverse weather. Bad weather in the area is understood to be the remnants of hurricane Patricia, so tug and barge may be counted as second victim, the first was Mexican bulk carrier LOS LLANITOS, grounded on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
