Ro-ro Pattana arrested in Busan

Ro-ro Pattana was reported arrested in Busan Korea on Oct 7 or 6 for manager’s outstanding debts totaling $150,000, 19 crew is to leave the vessel according to Korean law. Manager seems to be a Russian-Korean company based in Busan. Most probably, manager’s woes were caused by Russian economy crisis and diminishing spending capacity of most of Russian people. Pattana was serving the line between Korean ports and Vladivostok port, carrying mostly cars. Crew wages debts are said to be some $95,000. Trade unions, both Russian and Korean, are already vulturing over the vessel, demanding an auction.
