Malaysia continues arresting vessels for illegal anchorage

Product tanker Formosa Sixteen, anchored 2.2. nm southwest of Tanjung Piai, near western sea border Malaysia-Singapore, was arrested by Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) on Oct 2 for illegal anchorage in Malaysian waters. Vessel wasn’t able to present any papers permitting Malaysia waters enter and anchorage, no dues were paid. Two crew, presumably Master being one of them, were taken ashore to police station. If found guilty, perpetrator is facing fine of up to $22300, or two years prison, or both.
