Freighter Minouchi sinking off Haiti, crew went into life raft

At night Oct 1 USCG was alerted by distress signal from general cargo vessel Minouche, sinking 51 nm northwest of Haiti, Caribbean. Vessel reported 30 degrees portside list, 12 crew preparing to abandon the ship. Later crew reported moving to life raft in stormy weather conditions, with heavy swell. Helicopter and a nearby vessel are deployed in SAR.
