Fishing vessel Al-Amal sank off Eyl, Somali, 34 crew missing

Trawler Al-Amal sank in the evening Aug 5 off the coast of Somalia’s Puntland autonomy state, some 5 miles from the former pirate stronghold of Eyl. 34 crew went missing, Puntland coast guard is carrying out S&R. Crew includes Yemen, Kenya, Indonesia and Vietnam nationalities. Vessel is engaged in poaching in Somali waters since last year, with a fake license. Reportedly Al-Amal is Yemen-owned.
