Boxship towed back to Miami

July 10, 2015 at 14:50 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

Container ship Deneb J was close to ran aground on a reef off Duck Key in Florida Straits in the afternoon July 7 after losing power, but managed to drop anchor before grounding. Vessel was towed back to Miami, from where she sailed prior to mishap. AIS tracking tells a somewhat different story, but whatever the discrepancies are, vessel didn’t run aground and safely reached Miami.
