Freighter aground, Vietnam

General cargo vessel Hai Truong 36 ran aground in the morning July 5 on the coast of Binh Thuan province, Southern Vietnam, 10 miles off La Gi town. Vessel was en route from Hai Phong with cargo of 3,000 tons of rice on board. It is understood, that on some stage of the grounding there was a risk of capsizing, avoided by ballasting. 13 crew remained on board, by evening July 5 some 500 tons of rice were offloaded, refloating to start on July 6.
