Philippine ferry sinking update

July 3, 2015 at 03:31 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

According to latest Philippine Coast Guard statement on July3, on board of capsized ferry were 173 passengers and 14 crew, as of 0600 LT July 3 134 were rescued, 38 dead and 15 still missing. As expected, ferry came out to a local boat “motor banca” of mere 33.58 gt, under the name Kim Nirvana-B. 173 passengers seem to be too much, plus according to some local media, quite a lot of cargo. Boat was obviously overloaded, and capsized when encountered rough seas.
