Chinese tuna fishing vessel hard aground, 39 crew rescued, Canary Islands

Chinese tuna fishing vessel Feng Shun No.3 ran aground in the morning June 26 off the coast of Gando peninsula, Gran Canaria island. 37 crew escaped in life rafts, two, Captain and Chief Engineer, remained on board. People from life rafts were picked up by rescue ship Salvamar Nunki (MMSI:224049950), two on board were later airlifted by helicopter. Vessel is understood to be hard aground with starboard list, no spill reported. Not much data found on the vessel: tonnage 468 tons, length 48 meters, built 1987, flag China.
