PSV on fire, crew evacuated, Arabian sea

Offshore tug and supply vessel Vestfonn issued distress signal at around 1420 LT May 31 reporting fire on board, some 110 nm west of Mumbai, Arabian sea. Fire started in engine room and started to spread, Vestfonn requested an evacuation. Out of 33 crew on board 28 were taken on board of three Indian CG ships, 5 stayed to keep situation under control. By 1930 LT fire was under control, most probably by applying firefighting system and sealing off engine room. Vestfonn was taken under tow to be towed to Mumbai.
