Bulk carrier drifting in Philippine sea

May 29, 2015 at 05:09 by Mikhail Voytenko in Accidents

Bulk carrier Baltic K spotted drifting on May 27 at around 0800 UTC in vicinity 26 10N 135 05E, Philippine Sea, en route from Newcastle Australia to Kanda Japan. Vessel was reported as probably disabled.
MB correspondents, seafarers, report to MB spotted accidents or distressed/drifting vessels. When spotting drifting vessels, more often than not, they don’t have a chance to contact such vessels and find out the details. I don’t publish most of such reports, because there are many reasons why vessel in good order may go drifting, and I just don’t have means to get information about vessel’s condition.
