Brazilian Navy landing ship Ceara disabled and adrift, waiting for towage
Brazilian Navy landing ship Ceara lost propulsion on Apr 27 or Apr 28 while en route with troops to Haiti, off the coast of French Guiana. At 1500 UTC May 2 vessel was in position 05 52N 052 43W, some 30 nm off French Guiana coast. Two Alto-Mar tugs dispatched to distressed ship, ETA morning May 3. Ceara is to be towed back to Brazil to Belem port.
