Major ferry fire off Mallorca, Med

Ferry Sorrento en route from Palma to Valencia caught fire on Apr 28 some 18 nm southwest of Dragonera island, western tip of Mallorca, Balearic Archipelago, Mediterranean. Ferry left Palma at 1150 LT with 150 passengers on board. Fire quickly tirned into major one, with a lot of smoke. So far no casualties reported, only minor injures related to smoke inhaling. Ferry Puglia (IMO 9031703), ferry Visemar One (IMO 9498743) and SAR boat Salvamar Acrux are on the scene, engaged in evacuating passengers. Tug Marta Mata (IMO 9429120) steaming to the scene.
