Cruise vessel Deutschland sold to US interests
The 1998-built cruise ship Deutschland, owned by bankrupt Peter Dielmann Cruises, has been sold to an unnamed US-based buyer for an undisclosed price. The 552 passenger capacity vessel was, uniquely, built in sections by four different German shipyards, andassembled by HDW at its Kiel facility.
It is believed that Deutschland’s new owners will retained the vessel’s name and the majority of her crew. She has been anchored in Gibraltar Bay since the demise of her owners at the end of 2014.
