Ferry Vitsentzos Kornaros grounding, Greece

Ferry Vitsentzos Kornaros ran aground on a breakwater while entering Fry Kasos port, Kasos island, Dodecanese, east of Crete, Aegean sea, in the evening Mar 25, with 227 passengers on board. Grounding was caused by a strong wind. The weather is hampering refloating operation, passengers and crew remain on board, no risk, no water ingress or fuel leak reported. Helicopter delivered on board of the vessel surveyor and two divers to survey hull condition. At 0500 UTC Mar 27 vessel was in the same position.
