Bulk carrier Agira suffered explosion, presumably in engine room, on Mar 19, in Atlantic ocean east of Rio Grande. Vessel started to drift, and most probably, was taken on tow, arriving to Rio Grande Anchorage on Mar 22. Vessel is loaded with wheat destined for Bangladesh.

Bulk carrier Agira adrift in South Atlantic, last known position Mar 20 at 1830 UTC in 32 34S 051 24W, 45 nm southeast of Rio Grande, Brazil. Details unknown, but considering all available information, it’s an engine failure. Vessel left Rio Grande on Mar 15.
