PSV Sea Falcon allided with an oil platform, North sea
Offshore tug supply vessel Sea Falcon allided with an oil platform Forties Echo at around 0900 UTC Mar 16 in North sea, Forties Oil Field, 110 miles northeast of Aberdeen. Platform suffered minor damages, Sea Falcon returned to port, Peterhead, under own power. Platform was shut down, 15 of 30 personnel were evacuated as a precaution.
The Forties Oil Field is the largest oil field in the North Sea, 110 miles east of Aberdeen. It was discovered in 1970 and first produced oil in 1975 under ownership of British Petroleum, now called BP.
