Turkish general cargo vessel Dogan Kartal detained by force with hundreds of migrants on board
Turkish general cargo vessel Dogan Kartal was detained by Turkish Coast Guard in Dardanelles on Mar 12 with 337 illegal migrants on board, including 85 children and 68 women. Vessel refused to obey order to stop, and Coast Guard had to use force to stop her. Traffic was halted, Coast Guard fired on engine room, but vessel was still fleeing, until rudder became locked. Reportedly rioting migrants didn’t let the captain to stop the vessel.
