General cargo vessel Tong Yang Hai sinking in Japan sea
General cargo vessel Tong Yang Hai issued distress signal early in the morning Mar 11, reporting flooding and developing list, some 150 nm northwest of Saruyama Misaki Light, Ishikawa Prefecture Wajima, Japan, Japan sea. Vessel was en route from Nakhodka Russia to Pohang South Korea, loaded with coal. 14 crew includes 8 Chinese and 6 Vietnamese nationalities. Japan Coast Guard sent patrol ships and aircraft to a distressed vessel. it is understood, that the vessel is disabled and drifting, probably there is cargo shift.
