Fire on board of mv Golden 168, crew evacuated, Vietnam

Fire erupted in a fore cargo hold of a general cargo vessel Golden 168 early in the morning Mar 8. Vessel is anchored on Vung Tau anchorage, Vietnam, since reportedly, February, after engine breakdown, being en route from Singapore to Hong Kong with 6,600 tons of copra on board. Vietnamese rescuers evacuated all 20 crew, a tug was dispatched to fight fire, which was extinguished by 0900 LT. Photo: Golden 168 fire fighting.
