According to latest updates and the photo, as of Jan 14 afternoon Citeca fire was under control, but not yet extinguished, with plywood cargo smoldering under the upper cargo deck. Vessel was taken to berth, in order for firefighters to get access to cargo hold or holds. .

Fire erupted on board of Russian ro-ro Citeca, anchored in Akita port, Honshu, Japan, Japan sea, at around 1730 LT Jan 13. Cargo of plywood on a cargo deck was on fire, 14 Russian crew was evacuated, no spill reported. Port firefighting teams were engaged in firefighting, no updates yet to the situation.
