Runaway barge EIDE BARGE 32 found and taken under control

Unmanned barge EIDE BARGE 32, towed by a tug EIDE WRESTLER, broke free in the evening Dec 30 in North sea and started to drift towards oil rigs in Valhall and Ekofisk oil fields. More than 300 workers were evacuated from endangered rigs by helicopters. Barge passed clear of Valhalla rigs, and on Dec 31 was found and taken under control by PSV SIEM GARNET, to be towed to calmer waters and then transferred over to EIDE WRESTLER. Barge was towed from Tunisia to Norway.
