KONINGSBORG lost part of deck cargo, towed to Brest
General cargo vessel KONINGSBORG suffered mechanical failure during the night Dec 30 – Dec 31and issued distress signal at 0525 LT Dec 31, in position 18 nm west of Ouessant island, France, English Channel. Disabled vessel was caught in rough weather, and lost part of deck cargo, lumber. Vessel was taken on tow by a salvage tug Abeille Bourbon, to be towed to Brest. At 2000 UTC Dec 31 vessel was in safe waters, approaching Brest. Vessel is en route from Finland to Tunisia.
