CORINA fire in engine room, Norway

Fire erupted in engine room of general cargo vessel CORINA on Dec 30, distress signal was sent at 1305 LT, vessel was 60 nm northwest of Vaeroy, Norway, northwest of Bodo. Engine was shut down automatically, reportedly fire was under control in an hour after it started. Norwegian SAR lifeboat and reportedly, tugs and helicopter were sent to the distressed vessel, but when approaching, they’ve been informed by crew that situation is under control, no need in assistance. It is understood, that the vessel resumed voyage, but there is no AIS signal yet, at 1700 UTC latest were timed some 15 hours previously. Vessel is en route from Murmansk to Rotterdam.
