FAHRI EKSIOUGLU avoided grounding by dropping anchor, Bosphorus
General cargo vessel FAHRI EKSIOUGLU suffered steering failure in the morning Dec 29 near Rumelia Fortress, Istanbul, while transiting Bosphorus in northern direction. Reportedly vessel had emergency anchor to avoid running ashore. Soon after vessel started to move, either under own power or assisted by tugs, and was taken to Buyukdere anchorage, Bosphorus. At 1700 UTC Dec 29 vessel was still at anchor.
