Freighter Ming Guang sank in Japan sea

Freighter Ming Guang sank in the morning Dec 26 some 10 nm northwest of Ajikasawa town, Aomori prefecture, Honshu, Japan, Japan sea, near Tsugaru Strait. Vessel en route from Hakodate, Hokkaido, to Gwangyang, South Korea, with scrap on board, reported water ingress and following engine failure. 10 crew includes 2 Bangladeshi, 1 Myanmar and 7 Chinese. According to news, 6 crew were rescued, 1 of them unconscious, 3 were found in the water, whether dead or alive is unknown, 1 missing. Vessel is listed as general cargo vessel in some databases, others list her as grab dredger. Most probably, it’s a grab dredger which was chartered as a freighter to carry a cargo of scrap.
