General cargo vessel Hoa Mai 25 in trouble off Da Nang

General cargo vessel Hoa Mai 25-ALCI issued distress signal on Dec 12, reporting breakdown and danger of sinking in an stormy weather, while en route from Haiphong to Da Nang, Vietnam, with 1,500 tons of cement on board. Disabled vessel was some 80 nm NW of Da Nang. Coast Guard ships were dispatched to assist, it is understood that the situation is under control, vessel was taken under tow to be towed to Da Nang, ETA Dec 14.
