Hit&run freighter identified: Bay of Bengal deadly collision update

The name of the hit&run vessel was Bashundhara, Bangladesh media misspelled the name in initial news. The name of the sunk fishing vessel is Bandhan. The vessel in question was either Bashundhara-8 or Bashundhara-5.

Fishing boat sunk by merchant vessel, 1 dead 26 missing, Bay of Bengal
Merchant vessel hit the Bangladeshi fishing boat with at least 29 crew and passengers on board early Nov 28 some 30 nm south of St. Martin Island, Bangladesh, Bay of Bengal. Boat sank, 2 fishermen were rescued, 1 recovered dead, 26 missing. Merchant vessel didn’t stop and sailed away. According to Bangladesh media, the vessel in question was either mv Basundhara-4 or mv Basundhara-8, en route to Singapore. No vessel found on vessel or vessels under the name Basundhara.
