Bulk carrier Skawa holed

Polish bulk carrier Skawa at 1705 LT Nov 15 on St. Lawrence river contacted bottom on a shoal north of Richards Point between lighted buoys 52 and 54, up Cornwall, after engine failure and stranding off course, reported Great Lakes and Seaway Shipping. Vessel was en route from Port Colborne to Montreal. Skawa suffered a hole in forepeak, with ensuing water ingress and developing fore tilt. Vessel moved up the river and anchored at Wilson Hill anchorage, water ingress is reported to be under control. At 0600 UTC Nov 17 vessel was in the same position on Wilson Hill anchorage.
