Bulk carrier New Katerina fire

Fire broke out in a cargo hold of capesize bulk carrier New Katerina on Oct 23 during coal offloading in Amsterdam. It is said that the excavator working in the hold caught fire, and then coal ignited, too. Land fire teams and firefighting boats were engaged in fire fighting, it took them some 6 hours to take fire under control. Reportedly fire started shortly after midday, and was extinguished by 1815 LT. Damages unknown, no injures reported. On Dutch media photos New Katerina on fire.
