Taiwanese research vessel Ocean Researcher 5 reportedly struck a reef off Lung-men, Penghu island, Taiwan, Taiwan Strait, in the afternoon Oct 10, and sank at 2011 LT. There were 45 people aboard, crew and researchers. People went into life rafts and were rescued by Taiwanese Navy frigates and helicopters. 2 people, both researchers, were announced dead and 43 rescued. Maybe Master was late with the command to abandon sinking vessel.
