​COSCO's container ship ran aground

The COSCO container vessel WANHE ran aground last week off Aguadulce, Colombia. The 280 m container vessel had to give way to another vessel in the access channel to the terminal in Buenaventura. The giant freighter made abrupt maneuver and ran aground.

There were no reports of injures, damage or pollution. After the incident the vessel was not obstructing the entry and exit of vessels in the port of Buenaventura.

The WANHE was en route from Manzanillo with 731 containers onboard. Here is the vessel's track recorded on the base of FleetMon satellite AIS data:
