One more victim of rescued migrants – cruise liner Salamis Filoxenia captured and held hostage

Some 345 rescued Syrian migrants refused to disembark from cruise liner Salamis Filoxenia in Limassol port, Cyprus. They have been rescued by liner on Sep 25 after small vessel they were on got into trouble in stormy seas near southern Cyprus. They were to be transferred to a reception center near Nicosia, where they would be given shelter and medical treatment until authorities determined how to deal with them. They refused, and demand to be delivered to Italy. Cruise company is suffering huge losses, vessel was to sail on Sep 25 to Israel with some 300 tourists, mainly Russians. It is not clear from media news if tourists are on board, or await boarding.
