Ferry crashed into dock in Helsingborg, Sweden
On Sunday night the Danish ferry MERCANDIA IV crashed into the dock in Helsingborg, Sweden. The vessel was damaged seriously and had a hole in its hull. One passenger and one crew member were injured and were taken to hospital. After allision the ferry had to come back to the berth, afterwards the vessel was sent to the shipyard for repairs.
At the time of the accident the MERCANDIA IV was on its regular voyage from Helsingborg. There were 124 passengers and 19 crew members on board the vessel. The reason for the allision is still not identified and investigation is underway.
