General cargo vessel Poline capsized and sank in Japan sea early in the morning Sep 4 local time with 2034 tons of timber on board en route from Plastun (Primorye Region Russia) to China, in stormy weather, reportedly due to cargo shift. On a pic approximate area of S&R. 10 crew include 9 Russians and 1 Ukrainian nationalities. Freighter Aldan (IMO:8603389) bulker Golden Suek (IMO:9438614) boxship Hanjin Newport (IMO:9404194) bulker Simferopol (IMO:9466881 FESCO) and Japanese patrol ship Daisen are involved in search and rescue operation. Aldan rescued 5 sailors picking them from a lifeboat, Golden Suek rescued 2, Hanjin Newport rescued 2 (one of them died later), 1 crew is still missing.
