Aug. 20, 2014 at 15:25 by Svitlana Slavina in Container Shipping

Due to the current congested situation of the Rotterdam port the container shipping company Hapag Lloyd has announced a congestion surcharge in the port. The congestion surcharge amounts to 20 EUR per box and affects all cargo departing from Rotterdam and arriving at Rotterdam on the barges.

Earlier this month the Hapag Lloyd implemented the terminal congestion surcharge of 75 EUR per TEU for all cargo departing from and arriving at Rotterdam on a third party feeder vessel.
