Stabbing on board of bulker Genco Challenger left 2 crew dead and 1 injured, USA
USCG was alerted early in the morning Aug 15 by a report of stabbing incident on board of a bulk carrier Genco Challenger, which was sailing in the Atlantic off Delaware coast. Two men were badly injured and one jumped overboard. USCG airlifted two injured crew, one was pronounced dead in a hospital, another one is in trauma care. Body of a jumper was found in the afternoon Aug 15 floating in the water. Investigation under way, HK and USA authorities cooperate in the investigation. No details revealed on victims of the incident. According to available data, 23 crew is all Chinese. As of evening Aug 17 vessel was docked in Delaware river in Burlington - Trenton area. Vessel was en route from San Paulo Brazil to a port on Delaware river.
