Hijacked Singaporean tanker Hai Soon 6 released, Gulf of Guinea

Hijacked tanker Hai Soon 6 was released by pirates on reportedly, Aug 3, after a week-long captivity. Crew is safe, tanker’s cargo stolen, as expected.

Singaporean tanker Hai Soon 6 was boarded by 10 pirates and hijacked at 2340 UTC July 25 in position 05 00N 000 49E (70 nm southeast of Accra Ghana). It is understood that vessel is engaged in bunkering in waters of Gulf of Guinea, so most probably she was hijacked to steal the cargo on board. 21 crew include 1 Singaporean, 12 Chinese, 6 Myanmar and 2 Korean nationalities.
